本实验室是由中德学院投资、开发的，为满足德方教授开设的“电力电子”和“电机拖动”课程实验需要，以弥补校内共享实验室专用设备的不足而专门建立的。实验室共配备了四组较大功率的交直流机组及变换器，两台配有不同功率因数的节能及普通照明灯具的实验装置，还配有相当数量的power analyzers, current probes, differential probes，扭矩/转速测量仪 and oscilloscopes等专用设备或测量仪器。

    实验室可以开设的实验项目有：

Three-Phase Full-Bridge Converter, DC- DC converter, Different Lamp Load for Harmonic Analysis, Boost-Buck Chopper,” Speed-controlled DC Motor with Subordinate Current and Speed Control”, ”Measurement of Moment of Inertia of Drive System ”, ”Induction Motor with Frequency Converter” ,”4-Quadrant DC drive system”.
